Add an Internet Data Pass
Customers can only add an Internet Data Pass via Customer Care using the SOCs above. They cannot add them via self-service.
- Access the Data Pass window (not the SOC section) via Agreement tab > Page Options.
- Choose Internet Data Pass to add the applicable code to each desired line.
- Remove the existing Internet Data Pass (if needed).
- Customer must use all of the data before removing the Internet Data Pass or they will lose the unused data.
- If a new Internet Data Pass is added without removing the expired/used Internet Data Pass, the customer will not have access to the data in the new Internet Data Pass.
Set expectations
- The pass is valid until the data allotment is fully consumed or 30 days from purchase (whichever comes first).
- If there is an Internet Data Pass on accounts when the bill cycle starts over, the data pass is used before the regular monthly data bucket.
- Speeds are reduced to max 2G (128 Kbps) after all data has been used from both the Internet Data Pass and the plan.
- Customers can still download security updates to the device and manage their account online or via the T-Life app.
- Customers can add another Internet Data Pass by calling Customer Care.
- Internet Data Pass customers receive the same network prioritization as heavy data users and may notice lower speeds than other customers during times of network congestion.
- Customers receive automatic SMS notifications to the gateway at 80% and 100% consumption of the Internet Data Pass.
- T-Mobile Internet only customers also receive an email notification if their email is on file.
- Customers can use the T-Life app to monitor data usage.
Additional information
- Customers can purchase up to seven Internet Data Passes per month.
- They cannot stack Internet Data Passes.
- Only one Internet Data Pass can be used at a time.
- The previous Internet Data Pass must be removed before a new Internet Data Pass can be used.
- If an Internet Data Pass is removed before all of the data is used, the customer loses the unused data.
- If a new Internet Data Pass is added without removing the expired/used Internet Data Pass, the customer will not have access to the data in the new Internet Data Pass.
