Stateside International

Use this page to add Stateside International to a customer's account, confirm eligibility, and set expectations about what is and is not included.

What's included

International calling rates and included countries from the U.S. are available online at T-Mobile.com > International Calling. You may need to clear your cache, cookies, or browsing history if the site does not provide the intended information.

Stateside International w/ Mobile

  • Unlimited or discounted calling from the U.S. to landline and mobile numbers located outside the U.S.
    • International Discounted Calling (IDC) rates apply to all calls made to countries not specifically priced otherwise.
    • Stateside rates apply regardless of whether calls are made over cellular or Wi-Fi.
  • Unlimited text messaging (SMS) from the U.S. to mobile numbers in any country where texting is available. Not available to Cuba, Wallis  and Futuna.
  • Subscriber level (applies to a single line on the account) and BAN level (applies to all voice lines on account) options available. 

Stateside International Unlimited SMS

  • Unlimited text messaging (SMS) from the U.S. to mobile numbers in any country where texting is available.
  • International picture/video messaging (MMS) is rated the same as domestic MMS and charged based on the domestic messaging feature.
  • Included only with select plans like Simple Choice North America, Family Match, ONE Plan and Magenta.
    • Not available to add as a standalone feature.
    • Not available to Cuba, St. Helena, or Wallis and Futuna.
  • No international calling included.

    • Family/BAN option available for postpaid only. 
    • Subscriber level (applies to a single line on the account) and Family/BAN level (applies to all voice lines on account) options available.

Plan versions
  • Standard version is for use with postpaid voice plans with the Canada & Mexico included or the Talk, Text, and Data in Canada & Mexico features. 
    • Eligible account types: BC, BP, BO, BN, BM, BL, GF, GR, IA, IS, IR, IM, IJ, IG, IF, S6, SY, ST, SK, SI, SE, SD, SC
    • It excludes rates to Mexico and Canada.
    • Customers don't need to add Stateside International for unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada. It is included with the plan.
  • Legacy versions are for use with postpaid voice plans that do not include the Canada & Mexico included feature. Includes rates to Mexico and Canada.
  • Limited Business version are for plan SOCs: ZSCP6UTXD, ZSCUTT2XD, ZSCPUT1KX, ZSCP2UTXD, ZSCPUT6XD, ZSCUTT5XD, ZSCP4UTXD, ZSC100STX, ZSC1K100X, ZSC1TBSTX, ZSCPUT10X, ZSCPUT20X       
  • Wearable version if for use with postpaid wearable plans.

These SOCs are tax exclusive and are charged taxes. They can be added to Tax Inclusive plans, but they will still incur taxes.

Set expectations

  • Advise customers some countries and services are blocked and this feature may not be compatible with add-on features that contain messaging. 
  • Inform customers this feature:
    • Does not include roaming. 
    • Does not include MMS (MMS is charged based on the domestic messaging feature. Plans and features with unlimited domestic MMS cover international MMS).
  • Educate customers about the options and rates included with this feature.
    • Rates are for voice calls only. Video calling may be subject to different rates or data charges based on the app used.
    • Usage bills according to the plans customers have. For legacy plans with a bucket, calls deduct from the bucket. Once the bucket is depleted, standard overage rates apply (no long distance charges).
  • Check the plan before adding these SOCs. If Stateside International capabilities are built in to the plan, do not add these SOC features to the plan.
  • Set expectations with customers about limitations that apply when adding or removing this feature: 
    • Feature downgrades (based on MRC) can only be future dated.
    • Feature removal can only be future dated.
    • Feature upgrades (based on MRC) can be made same day or future dated.
    • Feature addition (no existing SITT feature on the line) can be added same day or future dated.
    • Backdating is allowed to help customers reduce unbilled charges which includes a one-time courtesy rerate by backdating the SITT feature for unbilled charges less than $300. 
    • These features are not prorated.
  • Inform customers about the following:
    • When moving customers between plan groups (such Go5G to Go5G Plus, TE to TI), these features may systematically drop and trigger unexpected charges if not re-added during the plan change process. Ensure that the effective date of the new compatible SOC is the same as the expiration of the old SOC. 
    • Legacy plans: Adding Stateside International does not provide discounted international long distance rates if roaming in Mexico/Canada and calling other countries. Standard international long distance rates will apply.
    • Puerto Rico accounts only: The SJPDRTL19 and SJPRTD19 SOCs must be removed from lines before adding INTT15MOB or INTT10 to avoid landline charge.
