Family Controls and Family Allowances

To set up and manage Family Controls and Allowances in T-Life or T-Mobile.com, customers must first set the Parent Line (steps below).

  • Some Family Control / Allowance functions may not be available in the app.
  • Access your T-Mobile.com account from a computer if the setting needed is unavailable. 

First time set-up of the adult line is only available via web using a computer.

T-Life app (Change Adult Line)

  1. Log in to the T-Life app.
  2. Select the Account (or Manage) tab.
  3. Select the gear icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Permission & Controls.
  5. Select Parental & family Controls.
  6. Select Privacy settings for kids.
  7. Scroll down and select Get started.
  8. Select Edit next to the adult/parent line number.
  9. Select the radio button next to Adult line.
  10. Select Save Changes.

 

T-Life app (Set Kid Line)

  1. Log in to the T-Life app.
  2. Select the Account (or Manage) tab.
  3. Select the gear icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Permission & Controls.
  5. Select Parental & family Controls.
  6. Select Privacy settings for kids.
  7. Scroll down and select Get started.
  8. Continue with the line number populated or select Manage a different line
  9. Scroll down to More Ways to control your data and in the Kids' line manager section select Kid line.
  10. Enter the child's Month and year of birth.
  11. Select Submit.

 

T-Mobile.com

  1. Log in to your T-Mobile.com account.
  2. Select your name at the top right.
  3. Select Profile
  4. Select Permissions & controls
  5. Select Parental and family controls
  6. Select Privacy Settings for Kids
  7. Select Get Started
  8. Continue with the line number populated or select Manage a different line
  9. Scroll down to More Ways to control your data and in the Kids' line manager section select Adult line.
  10. Select Submit.

To set up and manage Family Controls and Allowances in T-Life or T-Mobile.com, customers must first set the Parent Line (steps above).

  • Some Family Control / Allowance functions may not be available in the apps. 
  • Access your T-Mobile.com account from a computer if the setting needed is unavailable.
  • Only the Parent Line with Full Access or Primary Account Holder can modify Family Control and Allowance settings.
  • Customers must be logged in to their T-Life app or T-Mobile.com account using IE9+, Chrome, or Firefox and can't change settings over Wi-Fi.
  • It can take up to two hours from the time Family Controls and Allowances are added before these options become available.

  1. Go to T-Mobile.com or the T-Life app and log in to your account as the parent or Primary Account Holder.
  2. Perform one of the following:
    • From the T-Life App: 
      • Select the Account (or Manage) tab > Select the gear icon in the top right corner > Select Permission & controls > Select Parental  & family controls
      • Currently, applying Web Guard and setting the line type (adult/kid) are the only options available in the app.
    • From T-Mobile.com: Select your name at the top right > Profile > Permissions & controls > Parental and Family Controls.
    • For Business accounts: Click Family Allowances under 'I want to', then click Family Allowances on the second screen (some accounts may be able to hover Manage,then click Family Allowances).

Use steps to manage Web Guard via T-Mobile.com or the T-Life app.

  1. Log in to your T-Mobile.com account.
  2. Select your name at the top right.
  3. Select Profile
  4. Select Permissions & controls
  5. Select Parental and family controls
  6. Select Web Guard
  7. Continue with the line number populated or select another line number from the select line drop down. 
  8. Select the filtering option desired for the line. (High, Medium, Low, or No filtering)
  9. Select Save Changes.

 

Web Guard (T-Life app)

  1. Log in to the T-Life app.
  2. Select the Account (or Manage) tab.
  3. Select the gear icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Permission & Controls
  5. Select Parental & family Controls.
  6. Select Web Guard.
  7. Select the desired line.
  8. Select the designation that corresponds to the preferred filtering desired for the line. You may choose high, medium, low, or no filtering for web content.
  9. Select Save Changes.
